Micheal Ward , the British actor known for his roles in Netflix series Top Boy and Steve McQueen’s Small Axe , has been charged with two counts of rape and three counts of sexual assault.

London’s Metropolitan Police announced the charges on Friday . The alleged offenses relate to one woman and are reported to have taken place in January 2023.

Ward, 27, is due to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court in London on August 28.

Scott Ware, the Met detective leading the investigation, said: “Our specialist officers continue to support the woman who has come forward – we know investigations of this nature can have significant impact on those who make reports.”
