EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP — Police are investigating an assault they say took place after hours Wednesday at the township's Nature Reserve.

Police responded to the park at 318 Zion Road for a reported assault. The victim was found and treated by township EMS and taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Police did not say what time the assault occurred but that the park closes at dusk or 8:30 p.m.

Police said this was an isolated incident and there is no active threat to the public.
