ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - As the summer comes to a close, more families are expected to get one last dip in the pool and trip out on the lake. Earlier this summer, KALB introduced the younger swimmers with the City of Alexandria Swimming Team (C.O.A.S.T.), but the varsity swimmers with C.O.A.S.T. are helping make a difference by becoming lifeguards, ensuring the safety of the Cenla community.

“Little things can happen in a matter of seconds,” said Nyah Steward, a lifeguard at Village Green Pool and ASH Sports Camp. “It can happen so quickly, and you don’t think it can happen to you until it happens to you.”
