George Santos is now in prison.
The 37-year-old disgraced former New York congressman reported to the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Fairton in Fairton, New Jersey on Friday (July 25) to begin serving his 87-month, or seven years and a quarter, sentence after pleading guilty last year to wire fraud and aggravated identity theft.
The night before he surrendered, Santos took to X to joke about his “glamorous” life.
“Well, darlings…The curtain falls, the spotlight dims, and the rhinestones are packed,” Santos wrote. “From the halls of Congress to the chaos of cable news what a ride it’s been! Was it messy? Always. Glamorous? Occasionally. Honest? I tried… most days.”
He continued, “To my supporters: You made this wild political cabaret worth it. To my critics: Thanks for
