The Southwest Arkansas Arts Council (SWAAC) recently wrapped up another successful S.T.A.R. Academy, a weeklong drama camp held July 21–25 at the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana (UAHT) Rapert Library Complex.

Fifteen enthusiastic students, ranging from rising 1st through 12th graders, participated in this year’s camp. Many were returning actors eager to build on past experiences, while others stepped onto the stage for the first time. Throughout the week, students learned lines, crafted props, rehearsed scenes, and explored the art of performance.

The camp culminated in a joyful final performance of “Bippity Boppity Oops!” on July 25 at 6:00 p.m., where family and community members filled the Rapert Library stage area with laughter and applause. “The audience loved it,” organizers
