1WASHINGTON — A Washington, D.C. woman was arrested and charged with assaulting federal agents during the transfer of an alleged international gang member at the D.C. Central Detention Facility, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Sydney Lori Reid, 44, was charged on July 23 in U.S. District Court with assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers or employees.

The incident occurred as Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents were taking custody of two individuals described as suspected gang members and dangerous offenders. Reid allegedly interfered in the process and physically assaulted the agents involved.
