A man has admitted to the murder of Alexander Lo, whose brother is a suspect in a deadly festival attack. Dwight Kematch pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree murder on Friday, according to the British Columbia Prosecution Service. His sentencing hearing is set for August 11 in the British Columbia Supreme Court.

Alexander Lo, 31, was found dead in a home in East Vancouver last year. Authorities confirmed he was the brother of Kai-Ji Adam Lo, who faces charges related to an unrelated incident at the Lapu Lapu festival that resulted in 11 fatalities.

Vancouver police reported that officers responded to a 911 call around 1 a.m. on January 28. They arrived at a residence near Knight Street and East 33rd Avenue, where they arrested Kematch. Lo's body was discovered at the same location.

Kai-Ji Adam Lo is currently facing 11 counts of second-degree murder stemming from a ramming attack in April. During this incident, an SUV drove into a crowd at a Filipino community festival.

Last week, Kai-Ji Adam Lo appeared in court as forensic psychiatrists provided testimony regarding his mental fitness to stand trial.
