LARAMIE — Jennah Wanner knows all about the brown and gold.

She saw it every day, all over the house, even nearly 1,000 miles northwest of Laramie.

But at first, her family’s love for the University of Wyoming — mostly in part to her father, Brett, who played football at UW — led her toward a different path.

She wanted to try something different.

“(I wanted to) spread my own wings,” she said.

Those plans changed when the Cowgirls soccer team came calling and offered her a spot as one of five incoming freshmen on this year’s squad.

Wanner, a midfielder from Spokane, Washington, who enrolled early this spring, looks to immediately impact the Cowgirls during Josh Purdum’s second season at the helm.

“As soon as I explored Laramie by myself, I found out this is where I want to be,” Wanne
