A peaceful, non-violent protest is slated for Aug. 1 from noon to 2 p.m. at Santa Maria City Hall in support of La Marcha De La Puebla: Heroes Not Villains.

The protest is hosted by La Cultura del Mundo, a cultural and advocacy youth-led organization founded by Cesar Vasquez, and will recognize the dignity, resilience, and historic contributions of immigrants in the Santa Maria Valley, according to organizers.

The protest is described as a call to celebrate shared heritage and stand together against hate.
