WATERTOWN — No matter what happens this week for Watertown Post 17's team, the 2025 state Class A American Legion Baseball tournament is going to be a memorable one for the Arrows.
Post 17 (26-13) is the No. 3 seed and hosting the eight-team state tournament for the first time in 34 years (1991). The five-day, double-elimination event begins with four games on Tuesday and continues through Saturday.
The long break between hosting state tournaments for Watertown pales in comparison the 94-year wait it's been since the 1931 Watertown team captured the only state American Legion Baseball tournament championship in program history (by the way, it came in a tournament played in an old ballpark near Lake Kampeska).
