AIKEN, S.C. (WJBF) - Aiken County Sheriff Marty Sawyer is expected to hold a press conference on Lavinia Lowe, a 10-year-old who was shot and killed in her Beech Island home, the sheriff's office announced Wednesday.

The press conference is scheduled to take place on Thursday, July 31 at 10:30 a.m. at the Aiken County Sheriff's Office.

Back in June, authorities responded to a residence on the 100 block of Dorsett Kenzie Road in reference to shots fired, finding Lavinia with a fatal gunshot wound in her bed.
