TANGIPAHOA PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A man and woman were arrested on Tuesday, July 29, in connection with an alleged drug operation based in Independence and the Tickfaw area.

According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office, Independence Police directed investigators to a home on Guzzardo Lane and Woodhaven Road in Tickfaw that were alleged to be drug trafficking hubs in those communities.

Following several days of surveillance, police obtained search warrants to search the residences.

TPSO officials said their search allegedly turned up almost $180,000 worth of various drugs, including fentanyl, cocaine, heroin, meth and a heroin-fentanyl mix. Police said they found four different weapons and $21,000 in cash. • (Cour
