A Colorado Springs JCPenney is among 119 locations across the U.S. that were recently sold in a nearly $1 billion deal with a Boston private equity firm.
The JCPenney department store at 3650 New Center Point, in the First & Main Town Center on Colorado Springs' far east side, was recently purchased by an affiliate of Onyx Partners Ltd. in a $947 million all-cash sale of 119 JCPenney properties announced Friday by Copper Property CTL Pass Through Trust.
A second Colorado store in Aurora, the JCPenney at 14200 E. Alameda Ave. in the Town Center at Aurora, was also included in the sale, according to a list of affected locations published by USA Today.
