HERMANTOWN, Minn.- It went down to the wire but former Hermantown Hawk Dylan Samberg and the Winnipeg Jets have avoided arbitration after all.
Early Wednesday morning, just hours before the hearing was set to begin, Samberg and the team agreed to a three-year, 17.25 million dollar contract extension.
The former UMD Bulldog was originally asking for six million while the team was offering just 2.5 million.
Quite the pay day for Samberg, who averaged career-highs in goals and points.
