Central Michigan has received a Notice of Allegations from the NCAA purportedly for any role the school played in the sign-stealing scandal featuring a former Michigan off-field assistant coach.

According to a dashboard of active NCAA investigations , Central Michigan was informed of the notice on June 27, triggering a 90-day window for the university to provide a response.

The database shows CMU involved in an investigation that began on Oct. 31, 2023, the same day as photos were posted online that appeared to show then-Michigan defensive analyst Connor Stalions on the Chippewas’ sidelines for the school's season-opening game against Michigan State in 2023.
