Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan's cause of death has been revealed nearly a week after his passing.

Hogan, whose real name is Terry Gene Bollea, died of acute myocardial infarction, commonly known as a heart attack.

The New York Post was the first to confirm the cause of death. Sources also confirmed this to PEOPLE Magazine.

"A heart attack occurs when the flow of blood to the heart is severely reduced or blocked. The blockage is usually due to a buildup of fat, cholesterol and other substances in the heart (coronary) arteries," according to the Mayo Clinic.
