(NewsNation) — “American Idol” executive Robin Kaye reportedly met with authorities a day before she and her husband were fatally shot in their Encino, California, home.

Kaye and her musician husband, Thomas Deluca, attended a Community Police Advisory Board meeting on July 9, Josh Sautter, president of Encino's neighborhood council, told People magazine, which reported on the meeting Thursday.

Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell attended the meeting, where he addressed the uptick in local break-ins and other crimes in the area, People reported.

Kaye had attended a previous advisory board meeting, where she expressed fear about a break-in at her home.
