HOPE – Hempstead County Sheriff James Singleton has announced the promotion of Deputy Matthew Dunham to the rank of Patrol Sergeant, effective August 1, 2025.

Sergeant Dunham, an eight-year veteran of the Hempstead County Sheriff’s Office, has most recently served as the School Resource Officer (SRO) at Spring Hill Schools. His dedication to the safety and education of the youth in our community has been exemplary, and he has earned the respect of students, staff, and fellow deputies alike.
