UTICA, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) -- Another corrections officer accused of beating Robert Brooks to death decided on Friday that he will head to trial.
Michael Mashaw decided in Oneida County Court on Friday, August 1, that he would waive his suppression hearing and head immediately to trial. He will join David Kingsley and Matthew Galliher in a pretrial conference on Monday, September 22. Mashaw was originally scheduled to have a suppression hearing on Wednesday, August 13, but with the waiver, his case will head to pretrial conferences.
The suppression hearing was intended to determine the admissibility of statements Mashaw gave to investigators. However, Mashaw said in court on Friday that he saw no need to block the statement.
