A South Carolina man was arrested last week and charged in the 2020 murder of an Egg Harbor Township man during a botched robbery.
Steven Huff, 32, of Spartanburg, is charged with murder during the commission of a crime in the death of Arturo "Arty" Barrera III, 24.
During Huff's detention hearing Friday, Atlantic County Superior Court Judge Jorge Coombs ordered him held in jail until trial.
Huff is the third person charged in the case. Co-defendants Leonard Ludwigsen, 30, of Egg Harbor Township, and Neco Pitts, 32, of Long Branch, Monmouth County, are both serving 15-year prison sentences after previously pleading guilty.
At the time of their sentencing, Huff had not yet been identified. However, prosecutors offered to reduce their sentences to 12 years if they identified and testifie
