LA PLATA COUNTY, Colo. (KRQE) — The first human case of West Nile virus in La Plata County was reported to the La Plata County Health Department in July, according to the county. Officials are reminding residents to take precautions to protect themselves from the virus commonly spread by infected mosquitoes.
