ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KCTV) - Rookie offensive lineman Josh Simmons is in line to be the starting left tackle for the Chiefs this season. Simmons, who played last year at Ohio State prior to his selection in the first round by Kansas City, has impressed in his first training camp in the NFL.

“It’s the funnest thing you could do – compete against George Karlaftis and Mike Danna,” Josh Simmons said when asked about his first camp in St. Joe.

Simmons, 22, is tasked with protecting Patrick Mahomes’ blindside this season. Right now, the coaching staff is giving the first-year player out of Ohio State as much information as he can handle, so Simmons can play fast and furious when the regular season begins.
