Jeannie Seely has sadly passed away.
The Grand Ole Opry member and country music icon passed away on Friday (August 1) at Summit Medical Center in Hermitage, Tennessee from complications due to an intestinal infection.
Jeannie was reportedly suffering from health issues after having multiple surgeries over the past year.
Jeannie was an iconic figure in the world of country music, best known for songs like “Can I Sleep in Your Arms Tonight,” and “Don’t Touch Me.” She was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 1967 and won a Grammy Award for “Don’t Touch Me” the same year.
Following her induction into the Grand Ole Opry, Jeannie became the first woman to regularly host Opry segments. Jeannie made over 5,000 appearances at the Grand Ole Opry throughout her career, more than any other
