This week on the metro Atlanta dining scene, a landmark restaurant shared plans for its 30th anniversary celebration later this month, a popular chef announced a new restaurant at a North Georgia resort, and three different chains advertised offers for free food.

A couple of popular restaurants that temporarily shut down this year will reopen in the next few months after major renovations.

Rumi’s Kitchen will reopen its original Sandy Springs location in October, restaurant representatives announced this week. The upscale Persian restaurant first opened its Roswell Road location nearly 20 years ago and closed in March for a face-lift .
