CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Kennedy Blades still can’t fathom people wanting her autograph.

The Olympics silver medalist and Hawkeye fan favorite says she doesn’t just enjoy winning matches, she also wants to inspire the next great wrestler.

“There’s people who I looked up to that I never got a chance to meet, so I’m always there to give that autograph, take that picture,” said Blades. “Give someone that singlet or wrestling shoe, because they freak out and I’m like ‘oh I have another one in my closet of course you can have this!’”

“I will never stop smiling about it, it just makes me so happy, because I know I’m doing something right.”
