MADISON, Wis. – An Air Quality Advisory has been extended until noon on Sunday due to lingering wildfire smoke in the area. This advisory may change as conditions evolve throughout the day.

Saturday brought a refreshing change in weather, with morning temperatures dipping into the upper 40s, marking the coolest temperatures seen in over a month. The last time temperatures fell to the 40s was on June 1, when Madison recorded a low of 43 degrees.

Despite the air quality concerns, the weekend has been pleasant, featuring plenty of sunshine. As evening approaches, temperatures are expected to drop to the mid-50s, creating a comfortable atmosphere.

For those planning outdoor activities on Sunday morning, patchy fog may be present in some areas. However, a sunny day is anticipated as high pressure remains over the Upper Great Lakes, leading to mostly clear skies. High temperatures are expected to reach the low 80s.

Looking ahead to Monday, the pleasant weather is set to continue, with temperatures remaining in the low 80s. This is a great opportunity for residents to enjoy the outdoors.

As the week progresses, southerly winds will bring warmer temperatures, reaching the mid-80s by Wednesday. Humidity is also expected to increase, along with the possibility of scattered showers and thunderstorms later in the week.
