PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The Philly Pops are the 'No Name Pops' no more.
"The mission of the group is to play all styles of music to all of Philadelphia," says Matthew Koveal, Executive Director of the Philly Pops.
They're reborn to perform.
They performed their first full orchestral show on July 3 and introduced their new music director at the same time.
"We're here to play the music that our audience really wants to hear," says Christopher Dragon, Music Director for the Philly Pops. "I've always enjoyed conducting all these different kinds of genres so, for me, pairing up with the Pops is a dream come true."
On August 7, the Philly Pops take the stage at The Mann Center, along with Jacob Collier making his Mann debut.
"Jacob Collier is a Grammy Award-winning artist," says Koveal.
