Police are conducting a homicide investigation after one person was shot and killed in south Charlotte overnight.

Just before midnight, officers were called to the 6200 block of South Boulevard near Archdale Drive for an Assault with a Deadly Weapon call. Upon arrival, officers located a victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where they were pronounced dead.

This shooting is under an active investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call 704-432-8477.
