YORK COUNTY, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Thousands of South Carolina kids go back to school Monday.
The semester starts for students in Rock Hill and Fort Mill.
Several families took advantage of the tax-free weekend to do some last-minute back-to-school shopping.
Elian Belyshev, a rising senior at Fort Mill High School, bought a dinosaur backpack as part of a trend for seniors.
"You got to get a little kid's backpack," he said. "Kind of bringing back your childhood memories of when you brought a childhood backpack to school."

Landyn Swaringen is just starting his high school career.
"I'm feeling kind of scared for my first day of high school," he said.
