A man accused of committing multiple shootings throughout Florida over several months appeared in court on Friday.

Sterling Maloney, 29, is facing 12 counts of shooting into a building and two counts of shooting from a moving vehicle.

During his court appearance, a judge denied Maloney's bond.

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, their investigation began in February after a person who was in a vehicle in Royal Palm Beach started firing shots in the air.

Two more shootings then took place, including at a BJ's that involved the same type of gun, detectives said.

Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office Col. Talal Masri said that following those shootings, Boynton Beach Police investigated four other cases of someone shooting at residences and businesses.
