Tempe Police have arrested a man in connection with the shooting death of a teen last month.

Edwin Edward Denis was arrested in the death of a 17-year-old from a July 25 shooting near Tempe Town Lake.

Tempe Police said about 1:50 a.m. a 17-year-old male was shot near Playa Del Norte Drive and Loop 202 . He later died from his wounds.

Police developed leads and took Denis into custody after 7 p.m. July 31 according to a statement from Tempe Police.

The victim will not be identified as he is a minor.

Tempe Police are still investigating the incident and encourage anyone with insight to contact them directly.
