ALLEN PARK -- Giovanni Manu continues to develop and gain confidence through highs, lows and growing pains for the Detroit Lions.

Manu, the massive second-year offensive tackle, was always viewed as a developmental draft pick. The 2024 fourth-rounder out of the University of British Columbia spent last year as a healthy scratch, working behind the scenes on the quest to adjust to life in the NFL.

Manu and the Lions are more than two weeks into training camp, and even have a preseason game already in the books. Head coach Dan Campbell said Manu’s performance in the preseason game gave him some optimism after a slow start to camp.
