A man is facing serious charges, including arson, after intentionally lighting a fire inside his home as his wife and two children were asleep, according to the Maryland State Fire Marshal.

Charles County police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a house located on the 3000 block of Eutaw Forest Drive in Waldorf, Maryland, at 5 a.m. on Friday.

Police say they were called to the same house Thursday evening because of a domestic dispute between 49-year-old Omar Shariff Harrison and his wife. That same night, the couple agreed to stay in separate parts of the house.

On Friday, Harrison's wife said she woke up at about 5 a.m. to the sound of Harrison moving around the house, according to police. Then, she said that Harrison entered their bedroom and started to pour gasoline
