Dolly Parton has always been the Queen of Country, but it might surprise some of her younger fans that she posed for Playboy in 1978. But the photo shoot was much different than you think.

The 79-year-old country singer admitted in her interview with the men’s magazine 47 years ago that she was “afraid at first” to even approach the idea of posing. “I didn’t want to be naked or something on the front of a magazine unless everybody knew it was a joke,” she explained. “I mean, I wouldn’t want to be naked even then. It might not offend me, but I was afraid maybe a lot of my country fans and some of the people who love me who are of a religious nature might not understand.”
