Thirty years past his high-profile bankruptcy and living the more modest life in Tracy, MC Hammer faces a new financial blip: He’s being sued for allegedly failing to make payments on a $100,000 Land Rover.
The baggy-pantsed ’80s rap star — born Stanley Burrell in Oakland — bought the SUV two years ago from a Livermore dealership on a plan calling for 60 monthly payments of $2,434, according to the complaint filed last week by JPMorgan Chase Bank in San Joaquin County Superior Court. The filing was first reported by Courthouse News Service .
After Hammer, 63, missed multiple payments, the bank “demanded possession of the Vehicle from Defendants. Defendants have not surrendered the Vehicle,” the complaint says.
The contract lists the buyers as MC Hammer and U Can’t Touch This LLC, both
