BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A Livingston Parish couple is accused of defrauding the Medicaid program of over $133,000.

Keith and Sheryl Duncan, of Denham Springs were arrested on Wednesday, July 30, and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

Sheryl Duncan was charged with one count of government benefits fraud, and Keith Duncan was charged with three counts of government benefits fraud. Her bond was set at $5,000 while her husband received a bond amount of $12,000.

The Louisiana Department of Health sent a criminal referral to the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation related to the Denham Springs couple.

The referral had to do with allegations that the couple "had intentionally underreported their income for purposes to receive Medicaid benefits," according to Attorney G
