A motorcyclist is dead after crashing his bike in Fremont County, the Wyoming Highway Patrol says.
The crash happened around 2:54 p.m. on Thursday, July 31, at milepost 29.4 on Wyoming 135 (Sand Draw Road) north of Sweetwater Station.
According to a fatality crash summary , 67-year-old California resident Mark Byrd was negotiating a right-hand curve when his Harley-Davidson stared to wobble and he lost control of the bike, riding off the road and into the ditch.
"The motorcycle traveled about 400 feet before tripping and hitting the fence," the summary reads. "The motorbike flipped at least twice, throwing the driver off the bike."
Byrd was wearing a helmet but, sadly, did not survive his injuries.
