TEXAS, USA — Texas House Democrats are now facing arrest warrants after failing to return to the Capitol for Monday's redistricting special session, escalating a political standoff over redrawing congressional maps that has divided lawmakers and Central Texas residents.

At the center of the controversy is House Bill 4, a bill supported and signed on as co-authors by State Representatives Hillary Hickland (District 55) and Pat Curry (District 56). Both lawmakers argue the redistricting reflects Texas' changing political landscape following the 2024 election.
