PLYMOUTH TWP. — In Game 3 of the Perkiomen Valley Twilight League semifinal series, Collegeville’s Cody Clarke came to bat in a big spot in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the bases loaded, no outs and a three-run deficit against Philadelphia, Clarke was one swing away from completing a three-game sweep and sending the defending champion White Sox to the championship series.

His hard-hit line drive to first base was caught and turned into a double play. The Dirt Dawgs went on to win that game and Game 4 to force a decisive Game 5.

Clarke found himself in the batter’s box in another key spot in Game 5 Monday night at Villanova Ballpark at Plymouth. With the second-seeded White Sox ahead by one, Kevin Reilly and Kyle Feaster worked walks to start the bottom of the sixth inning. Afte
