Pictures show a Roman Saxon fortress in all its glory at sunset.
Camera club snapper Grazyna Hammond captured some stunning shots of Pevensey Castle at sunset.
The sun is seen sinking beneath the walls of the fortress, which are more than 500 metres long.
The sunset casts a gorgeous golden hue on the castle, while the sky is an ombre of blue and orange.
Pevensey Castle (Image: Grazyna Hammond) Pevensey is described by English Heritage as "the biggest of the Roman ‘Saxon Shore’ fortresses" and is believed to have been built in about 290 AD.
The walls still stand almost to their full height.
