The University of Virginia has named a former law school dean and current law professor as its interim president in the wake of President Jim Ryan's June resignation under pressure from the Trump administration.
Paul Mahoney will replace UVa COO J.J. Davis, who was named acting president after Ryan's departure, next Monday, about two weeks before the start of the new academic year.
