MEDFORD – An Iowa-based company announced July 31 it purchased a Medford, Wisconsin, business.

Pella Corporation, a manufacturer of residential and commercial windows and doors announced it acquired Weather Shield, a manufacturer of architectural wood and aluminum window and door solutions, combining two industry leaders with shared commitments to innovation, craftsmanship and customer experience, according to a release from Pella Corporation.

Pella Corporation, based in Pella, Iowa, was founded in 1925 and employs 11,000 workers across 21 manufacturing sites and 250 showrooms around the country.

Weather Shield, based in Medford, Wisconsin, was founded in 1955 and creates high-end windows and doors for architects, homebuilders and homeowners.
