A motorcyclist killed in a three-vehicle wreck Sunday along Interstate 78 in Salisbury Township has been identified by authorities.

Twenty-year-old Gavin J. Long of Middle Paxton Township, Dauphin County, was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:15 a.m. He died from multiple blunt force injuries, and the death was ruled accidental by Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio.

There were no other reported injuries.

Trooper Nathan Branosky, public information officer with Pennsylvania State Police’s Troop M, said the crash happened around 10 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of the highway, near mile marker 58.8.

Long was operating a 2024 Yamaha in the middle lane when the driver of a 2022 Volvo semi-trailer was traveling just ahead of him, Branosky said.
