Could we see the Connecticut Sun turn into the Boston Sun?

Boston Celtics' minority owner Steve Pagliuca confirmed in an X post that an investor group led his family office, PagsGroup, with support of governors of Massachusetts and Rhode Island, made an offer to purchase the Connecticut Sun with intention of keeping New England's only WNBA team in New England.

"No transaction has been agreed yet," the statement said.

ESPN reported that Pagliuca agreed to buy the team for $325 million as well as committing $100 million toward building a practice facility. The 70-year-old's post made no mention of these figures.
