Chalk Fest is making a return to the 800 block of Commercial Street this September and you are invited to help turn the street into a masterpiece. Participants will transform the block into a vibrant outdoor gallery, filled with color, creativity and community spirit.
Sarah Barrett, Gallery and Art Director for the Emporia Arts Center says artist’s are needed and can work solo or in a group. Artists are welcome to draw whatever they wish, as long as it is family-friendly. This year, there is no specific theme, giving artists a range of possibilities.
“Two expert chalk artists, Casey Ligon and Noreen Schroder, will be on hand to showcase their talent and serve as judges for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards,” Barrett said.
