Austin Drummond, a suspect in a quadruple murder case in West Tennessee, was apprehended on Tuesday morning. Law enforcement officials confirmed his capture following a shelter-in-place alert issued for Jackson, Tennessee. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation shared a photo of Drummond shortly after his arrest.

The alert was prompted by a sighting of Drummond in the vicinity of Saddlebrook Drive and Bridlepath Drive. The Jackson Police Department urged residents to shelter in place, stating, "Due to the sighting of suspect Austin Drummond in the area, please shelter in place immediately."

Drummond had been evading authorities since last Tuesday, when the bodies of four family members were discovered in Lake County. His vehicle was located in Jackson on Friday, intensifying the search efforts.

During the shelter-in-place order, police advised residents to secure their homes by locking windows and doors, staying indoors, and avoiding unnecessary travel. On Monday, Union University was placed on lockdown as the search for Drummond continued, with officers visible in the area and blocking certain streets.

Authorities reported that Drummond was captured on a citizen’s camera system on Sunday night. They released two surveillance videos showing him dressed in camouflage, carrying a backpack, and holding a rifle. In one of the videos, he was seen attempting to open a door.
