A Colorado Springs man was arrested after allegedly driving a UTV into the Arkansas River with another person inside while under the influence, according to the Chaffee County Sheriff's Office.
The UTV was found partially submerged by deputies around 1 p.m. Sunday near Ruby Mountain Campground, south of Buena Vista. First responders with Colorado Parks and Wildlife rescued the two occupants from the river, and the UTV was pulled out with a tow truck, according to a Facebook post from the Sheriff's Office. No one was injured.
"The investigation by the Chaffee County Sheriff's Office showed that driving into the river was an intentional act, and that alcohol was a contributing factor," the sheriff's office said in the post.
