James Cameron 's Avatar movies are far from finished, but the director is already attached to an upcoming war drama — and the book it's based on is officially on sale today. Cameron has no shortage of excellent films , but his upcoming project will allow him to explore the aftermath of a real-life tragedy that completely reshaped history: the 1945 bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Cameron will do this by bringing Ghosts of Hiroshima by Charles Pellegrino to the screen , and the non-fiction book is officially out as of today, August 5. Ghosts of Hiroshima gives readers insight into the world-altering historical event by detailing the accounts of survivors and using forensic archaeology to recount what happened.
