CRANSTON – Route 2/New London Avenue in Cranston will be down to one lane in each direction as it goes under Route 37, a move that will last until mid-November 2025.

Route 2 will be down to one lane in each direction starting on Aug. 15, as crews begin work to demolish the Route 37 bridge that goes over Route 2.

The ramps and exits at the interchange on Route 37 will stay open, but the lanes will be narrowed and shift, and there will be less distance for merging, according to a news release from the Rhode Island Department of Transportation.
