A Westlake physician pleaded not guilty to charges accusing him of threatening U.S. Rep. Max Miller, R-Rocky River, with ethnic and homophobic slurs during his arraignment on Aug. 4.
Dr. Feras Hamdan, 36, appeared in court with counsel, attorneys Issa M. Elkhatib of The Elkhatib Law Office and Kevin M. Spellacy of Hillow & Spellacy Co., LLC, both in Cleveland, according to Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court records. Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge Peter Corrigan set Hamdan’s bond at $10,000, in addition to ordering Hamdan to have no contact with Miller.
Hamdan was also ordered to submit a DNA specimen collection procedure administered by the sheriff within 24 hours, as he had not yet submitted to a collection at the time of the court appearance, court documents read.
